Connecting Google Calendar and Google Meet
Everything you need to connect your Google Calendar, fix common issues, and manage the integration.
Why Connect Google Calendar?
Connecting your Google Calendar lets Wholeding automatically create calendar events and Google Meet links for your sessions. When a booking is confirmed, both you and the client get a calendar invite with a Meet link — no manual setup required.
What the integration does:
- Creates a Google Calendar event when you confirm a booking
- Automatically generates a Google Meet link for each session
- Invites the client to the calendar event
- Updates or cancels the event when a session is rescheduled or cancelled
- Blocks your availability when you have confirmed sessions
Before You Start
You'll need:
- Your @wholeding.eu Google account (the one you signed up with)
- Access to a desktop or mobile browser
- About 2 minutes of your time
The integration is optional but strongly recommended. Without it, you'll need to manually create Google Meet links for each session and update your calendar.
Step-by-Step: Connecting Your Calendar
- Sign in to Wholeding and go to Provider Settings from your dashboard.
- Find the Google Calendar section and click Connect Google Calendar.
- You'll be redirected to Google's sign-in page. Select your @wholeding.eu account.
- Google will ask you to grant Wholeding permission to:
- See, edit, and share events on your calendar
- Create Google Meet video conferences
- You'll be redirected back to Wholeding. The Google Calendar section should now show Connected with your email address.
That's it! From now on, calendar events and Meet links are created automatically for confirmed bookings.
How to Verify It's Working
After connecting, you can verify the integration in two ways:
- Provider Settings: the Google Calendar section should show a green "Connected" badge with your account email.
- Test with a booking: when your next booking is confirmed, check your Google Calendar — you should see a new event with a Meet link within a few seconds.
Disconnecting Google Calendar
If you need to disconnect (for example, if you're switching accounts), go to Provider Settings → Google Calendar and click Disconnect. This immediately:
- Revokes Wholeding's access to your calendar
- Removes stored refresh tokens from our database
- Clears the calendar connection from your provider profile
Important: disconnecting does not delete existing calendar events for already-confirmed sessions. Those events remain in your calendar until the sessions are completed or cancelled.
After disconnecting, new bookings will not create calendar events automatically until you reconnect.
Reconnecting After Disconnect
Reconnecting is the same as the initial connection — go to Provider Settings → Google Calendar and click Connect Google Calendar again. Google will show the permissions screen; click Allow to re-grant access.
Troubleshooting
"Failed to connect Google Calendar"
The most common causes:
- Wrong account: make sure you're signing in with your @wholeding.eu account, not a personal Gmail.
- Permissions declined: if you accidentally clicked "Cancel" or "Deny" on Google's permissions screen, just click Connect Google Calendar again and allow the permissions this time.
- Third-party cookies blocked: some browsers block third-party cookies by default, which can interfere with the OAuth flow. Try enabling third-party cookies for
wholeding.euand Google domains, or try a different browser.
Calendar events are not being created
If a booking is confirmed but no calendar event appears:
- Check Provider Settings → Google Calendar — is it still showing "Connected"? Your access token may have expired.
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting to refresh your authorization.
- If the problem persists, contact support@wholeding.eu with the booking reference.
Google says "Access revoked"
If Google revokes access (for example, if you changed your password or revoked it from your Google Account settings), the connection will stop working. You'll see a warning in Provider Settings. Just click Connect Google Calendar again to re-authorize.
Meet links are missing from calendar events
This is rare but can happen if Google's API is temporarily unavailable. If you see a calendar event without a Meet link:
- Wait a few minutes — Google sometimes adds the Meet link asynchronously.
- If it's still missing, open the event in Google Calendar and click Add Google Meet video conferencing manually.
- Report the issue to support@wholeding.eu so we can investigate.
Privacy and Data
Wholeding only reads and writes events that are related to your bookings. We do not access or store your other calendar events. The OAuth refresh token is encrypted at rest in our database. You can revoke access at any time from either Provider Settings or your Google Account settings.
